If you have a bottle of Crusoe Treasure that has been beneath the sea, you will see that it is a beautiful bottle with a unique design and a remarkable story behind it. You can reuse the wine bottle and turn it into a bedside lamp. Below, we explain step by step how to do it.
Create your own lamp
Materials needed:
- Empty wine bottle.
- Lamp kit (lamp holder, cable with plug and socket).
- Lampshade.
- Drill.
Step 1: First, make sure your empty wine bottle is completely clean and dry. We do not want any wine residue to remain inside the lamp. As the wine bottles Crusoe Treasure are painted, you do not need to worry about removing any labels. You can clean it with soap and water and, once it is dry, begin. However, if you want to preserve any encrustations on the bottle, do not clean it!
Step 2: Now you need to obtain a basic lamp kit. You can find one at a DIY store or even buy it online. To fit the socket onto the bottle, follow the instructions included with the kit you purchased to ensure that you do it correctly. Remember to screw the socket firmly onto the mouth of the bottle so that it is secure.
Step 5: Once the bottle’s electrical assembly is complete, all that remains is to fit the lampshade. There are many different styles, so choose the one you like best, taking into account the diameter of the bottle base’s opening where it will be screwed on. It is time to give your lamp a personal touch! You can decorate it with decorative ribbons, paint or even personalised labels. Let your imagination run free and make your lamp unique! Do not forget to remove any sticky residue before decorating it.
