When we opened our new headquarters, we did so with wine and the experiences surrounding it in mind. But something we had not entirely planned soon began to happen: companies asking whether they could hold their year-end dinner here, brands looking for a different place to launch a product, teams wanting to meet away from the noise of the city. The answer is yes. And in this article, we explain why this space works so well as an event venue.
By the sea, twenty minutes from Bilbao
Our building is located on the Arriluce Pier, right on the waterfront at Getxo Marina and just 300 metres from the Cruise Ship Pier. From central Bilbao, it takes around twenty minutes by car, and it is also accessible by metro. For those flying in, the airport is half an hour away.
That combination is rarer than it may seem: an event by the sea, with views of the harbour, without giving up the convenience of a capital city. Your guests do not have to choose between a spectacular setting and easy access. Here, they have both.
More than 500 m² that transform
The space offers more than 500 m² of usable area spread across the showroom, wine shop, tasting room and communal areas, with capacity for up to 150 people. The centrepiece is the showroom: a 207 m² open-plan room with high ceilings, an industrial-maritime aesthetic and a large wooden wall whose character changes with each layout. One day it is a banquet hall, the next a theatre-style product presentation, and the day after that, a film set.
There are two ways to book it. The first is the entire space exclusively: eight hours on the same day, with the building closed to the public, solely for your event and your guests. It is the option chosen by those who value discretion or want the venue to be entirely theirs. The second is the showroom area, designed for groups of 40 to 100 people, with independent access: perfect for presentations, training sessions and corporate dinners.
The wine, if you wish. The story, always.
Here is what no other event venue can offer: we are home to the world’s first underwater winery and artificial reef. The wines tasted here have aged on the seabed of the Cantábrico, and that story is present in the walls, the bottles and the people who welcome you.
Those who wish can add a guided tasting of underwater wines to their event —for many guests, the part they remember months later—, give attendees a bottle of underwater wine or exclusive merchandise as a corporate gift, or round off the day with a boat trip from the marina itself.
And here is something important: none of this is compulsory. Some companies simply need a good space by the sea, and that is what we are too. But knowing that you can have all of this in one place, with a single point of contact, changes the way you plan an event.
Everything else, taken care of
Organising an event usually means coordinating ten suppliers. Our aim is to make that unnecessary here. The space is complemented by a selection of optional services: bespoke catering, from pintxos to a banquet; live showcooking with chefs of recognised standing; music and live art inspired by the world of the sea; technical equipment including screens and sound, with setup included; and an immersive room with 360° surround projection to immerse your guests in your brand’s content.
For brands seeking maximum visibility, there is also the possibility of displaying their logo across both façades of the building during the event: an iconic location photographed daily by visitors and cruise passengers.
