The media impact of Bodega Crusoe Treasure is worldwide 06/14/2022

The latest interview with our founder, Borja Saracho, had a great international impact.

CRUSOE TREASURE IN THE MEDIA

The interview with Borja Saracho, founder of Bodega Crusoe Treasure along with Joxean Saez de Ocariz, has received extensive national and international media coverage. News reports from China, Belgium, and the United States, among others, have covered the winemaking process behind our winery, the world's first underwater winery and artificial reef. The Associated Press interview with Cassandra Allwood has garnered enormous attention, confirming the significant media interest.

International coverage

Euronews , one of Europe's leading media outlets, has provided extensive media coverage, appearing in its newscasts and online with an article commenting on the interview. Still on the continent, Het Laatste News (HLN ) , the most popular newspaper in the Flemish region and Belgium, and  Deutsche Welle (DW) , a major German media outlet, has echoed the same, highlighting the differential value of the brand and the quality of the wines commented on by an American wine tourist.

“You may think we're crazy, and this is all marketing, but after hundreds or thousands of analyses, we've seen that the different evolution of chemical components positively affects the expression of wine.”

International channels such as CBS They made a report on the interview, which also included testimonials from wine tourists visiting our winery while enjoying one of our experiences. In addition, local media such as Central Oregon News or the magazine Inside Edition They also followed up on the news.

“The flavor is absolutely unique. It's not sweet, but at the same time, it's not bitter. It's hard to explain. You have to try it to truly understand.”

In the rest of the world, coverage of our underwater treasures was also carried out, highlighting among others, those carried out by WION, an Indian multinational English-language news company, in China and Taiwan via Yahoo! News in Japan TV Asahi , or in Cuba Communicates .

Plentzia, Bizkaia and the Basque Country

This national and international media impact acts as a driving force for tourism in Plentzia, Bizkaia and the Basque Country in general, supporting the Bilbao-Bizkaia 2030 tourism strategy and following the guidelines outlined by the Basque Government's tourism development plan, in collaboration with Basquetour, in terms of sustainability.

Tourists who visit Bodega Crusoe Treasure are generally wine lovers, innovation enthusiasts, and environmentally friendly, a type of profile that aligns with the tourism strategy for the Basque Country.

In 2022 alone, in the last few months, we've welcomed around 200 visitors from countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States, among others. All of them were pleasantly surprised by the change brought about by the underwater storage of our wines, by the underwater winery-artificial reef, and by the unparalleled location in which we find ourselves, in the Uribe Kosta region of Plentzia-Barrika-Gorliz, in Bizkaia. A unique enclave that combines innovation, culture, and gastronomy.
