Discover the sculptures made with waste extracted from the sea in Plentzia

The mysterious artist

On one occasion, leaving our experimental vineyard, we took a path where we could see trees with faces, humanoid forms and all kinds of curious sculptures.

We wondered who could be behind these original works of art, and we set out to find the artist, as it seemed very interesting to us. After asking several people who the mysterious artist who made these sculptures was, we managed to find Iñaki Aginaga. He very kindly attended us and explained his work and the reason why he made these fantastic works of art.

He told us that he was a diving enthusiast and that as a result of this, he began to remove and throw into their respective containers all kinds of waste and rubbish that he found in the sea, in the bay of Plentzia. For some time he kept on doing this admirable work, until one day he had the idea of using some of the waste he was taking out of the sea to do something more interesting.

He began to make all kinds of humanoid sculptures, to simulate picturesque faces on trees and many more works that we can find on his instagram. One of his projects is to decorate with his works the road that leads from Goierri to Plentzia, a road that passes through our vineyard.  In order to thank him for his effort and dedication to this sustainable and original work, we gave him one of our wines, Sea Passion Nº6.
