This is one of the questions that whoever gets one of our treasures often asks us. Why is my bottle different from the one in the photo? why doesn’t it have inlays? There is really a current of people to whom this fact adds a lot of value.
We give you an explanation
If when you receive your Crusoe Treasure bottle it is opaquer, with incrustations, it is because it has lived in a more protected area, surrounded by relative calm, where the small fish that live in the underwater winery- artificial reef hide.
If you receive a cleaner bottle, it is because it has lived in an indomitable location, subjected to the bravery of the Cantabrian Sea, which erodes it with such force and intensity that adhesions are more difficult, only the strongest can survive and improve.
In either case, Crusoe Treasure wines achieve their maximum evolutionary expression during their underwater treasuring process.
How is the place where our wines are treasured?
Our underwater-reef winery is located in the Bay of Plentzia, in a site chosen exclusively to achieve the best evolution of our wines under the sea. The cellar-reef made up of steel and concrete structures, materials that helped create a home for many species, is located 20 meters deep, in an area with a lot of current and tides. This home for the marine fauna and flora of the environment forms a habitat, taking advantage of the outer surface of the winery and the interior spaces, thus accompanying the bottles of wine, which are in contact with seawater and with all its energy during its underwater process. Each bottle is located in a different area of the winery-reef, living its own story.
Each wine is unique.
And regardless of their location, what we have proven is that Crusoe Treasure wines achieve their maximum evolutionary expression during their underwater storage process.
